ARTROM STEEL TUBES concluded a new stage in the program of measures it has undertaken and which aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and at the same time increase the efficiency of the production process

ARTROM STEEL TUBES has recently concluded the process of selecting suppliers for the upgrading of the billet heating furnace from the workshop WS 2 CPE, and two of the leading manufactures on the world market were selected.
SMS Group S.p.A. will supply a New Completed Burners system and state-of-the-art automations (hardware and software). The combustion system will provide the latest generation of natural gas burners with low NOx emissions, suitable for future operation using up to 100 % hydrogen in the fuel mixture.
VESUVIUS Europe GmbH & Co. KG will supply the refractory materials increasing the thermal insulation of the furnace.
Thus, the new EUR 4,000,000 project which will be completed in the summer of 2024, will be decrease about 40 % the gas consumption and CO2 emissions for billets heating process in WS2 CPE and is part of decarbonization plan of the plant.
